Breathwork for Nervous System Regulation

When we experience feelings that are too big to regulate or handle, our nervous system is often operating in fight or flight, states that are governed by sympathetic nervous system. These states are essential - in life threatening situations.

When our nervous system goes into a fight or flight mode in non-life threatening situations we might experience difficult emotions such as anger, anxiety, and the need to escape.

This extremely simple breathwork signals the nervous system to shift to a state of rest and repair, which is essential for us to feel safe and calm.

Note: if you have history of respiratory issues such as COPD and Asthma, or have history of seizures/ brain surgery - please work with your medical providers before engaging in any new breathwork. Additionally, this breathwork is not meant to substitute the role of a mental health provider.
